A traditional Italian chandelier signifies grace and luxury to us. It is essentially handmade of glass, its whole appearance is strongly related to crafts and sensibility of the making process. The main structural elements of every chandelier are the glass arms which define its general proportions but do also generate subtle refractions.

While chandeliers are usually aesthetically very busy pieces where lots of details shift the attention away from its essential elements, we intended to realize a more reduced approach. Therefore the design of Tyra is focusing on its precious mouth blown glass elements without additional decorative elements. In addition, we implemented vertical light tubes made of matte glass to give the series a more contemporary look while not sacrificing on its traditional value.
